A lot of customers ask whether a morning or afternoon trip is better. And honestly, it depends—especially after a couple days of strong winds, heavy rain, or thunderstorms that keep us off the water. After that weather, it took a bit of time to get back on track. On the morning trips, we had one boat go south, one go north, and one head to the middle. What we discovered is that the fish were actually in the shallow north—they weren’t in the deeper middle, and they weren’t in the south. Once we realized that the fish were shallow in the north, that was the game changer. After those first two trips, we knew exactly where to go, and by the afternoon trips, we hit our salmon limits once again.
